(11.9.1906 - 20.10.1970)
   польск. режиссёр, педагог, критик. Учился в Вильнюсском ун-те. В 1928 - 30 работал на радио. В 1930-е гг. занимался пропагандой социально значимого киноиск-ва, особенно советского. Снимал к/м док. фильмы. В период нем.-фаш. оккупации создал и вёл подпольные кинокурсы, руководил киногруппой у партизан. После освобождения Польши снимал док. ф. ("Алло, говорит Лодзь", 1945, и др.). Среди худож. ф.: "За вами пойдут другие" (1949) о пролет. антифаш. подполье, "Действительность" (по Е. Путраменту, 1961) о рабочем движении в Польше 1930-х гг. Руководил творч. объединениями "Дорога" (1957 - 63) и "Путь" (1968 - 70).
   Др. ф.: "Долото и кисть" (1932, к/м, док., Франция), "Наброски углем", "Месть" (с Б. Коженевским) - оба 1957, "Галоши счастья" (1958), "Девушка из хорошей семьи" (1962).
