   рум. писатель, сценарист. Член ЦК РКП с 1981. В 1961 окончил Клужский ун-т. Один из ведущих рум. прозаиков и драматургов. Написал сц. кинокомедий, проникнутых живым нар. юмором. Сотрудничает с реж. Дж. Сайзеску. Лучшие сц.: "Бал в субботу вечером" (1968), "Скорбно Анастасия шла" (1980). Среди др. сц.: "Улыбка в разгаре лета" (1964), "У врат земли" (1966), "Слишком маленький для такой большой войны" (1970), "Пэкалэ" (1974), "Парение" и "Невеста из поезда" (1980). С 1975 деп. Великого нац. собрания. С 1981 пред. СП СРР.
