• ГАРЛЕНД, Гарланд (Garland) Джуди (наст. имя и фам. Фрэнсис Гамм, Gumm)
(10.6.1922 - 22.6.1969)
   амер. актриса, мать актрисы и певицы Л. Миннелли. В кино с 1935. Обладая незаурядным муз. дарованием, завоевала популярность, участвуя с актёром М. Руни в ) неск. ф. сериала о средней амер. семье . Харди ("Любовь находит Энди Хард и", "Энди Харди встречает дебютантку" и др.). В 1939 сыграла в муз. сказке"Волшебник из Оз". В том же году получила , спец. пр. "Оскар". Снималась в известных мьюзиклах 40-х гг.: "Девушка Зигфельда", "Для меня и моей девушки", "Встретимся в Сент-Луисе", "Зигфельд Фоллиз", "Пират". В кон. 40-х гг. в результате нервного переутомления ушла из кино и неск. лет выступала с концертами в Лондоне и Нью-Йорке. В 1954 блестяще сыграла гл. роль в мьюзикле "Родилась звезда", однако затем вновь вернулась на сцену т-ра и кабаре. Последние драм, роли актрисы - в ф. "Нюрнбергский процесс" (1961), "Ребёнок ждёт" и "Я могла бы продолжать петь" (1963, Великобритания) - показали многогран-т. ность её актёрской индивидуальности, но IB не смогли вернуть ей прежней популярности.
