• РЕ`ЙНХАРДТ, Райнхардт (Reinhardt) Макс (наст. фам. Гольдман, Goldmann)
(9.9.1873 - 30.10.1943)
   нем. и австр. режиссёр. В 1894 окончил театр, школу при Венской консерватории. Работал актёром в разл. т-рах Австро-Венгрии и Германии. В кон. 90-х гг. дебютировал как режиссёр, став впоследствии одним из крупнейших мастеров нем. т-ра. Учениками и соратниками Р. по театр. деятельности были прославившиеся в дальнейшем кинорежиссёры Ф. В. Мурнау, Э. Любич, У. Дитерле, О. Преминджер, П. Лени, актёры П. Вегенер, Э. Яннингс, В. Краус, X. Мозер, Б. Гёцке и мн. др. По контракту с фирмой "Унион" пост. ф. "Сумурун" (1910), "Венецианская ночь" (1912) и "Остров блаженных" (1913), к-рые не имели успеха. В 1933 эмигрировал в Австрию. В 1935 в США совм. Дитерле экранизировал комедию Е. У. Шекспира "Сон в летнюю ночь", до того неоднократно поставленную им в т-ре. Несмотря на высокие худож. достоинства, ф. всё же оказался неудачным, т. к. режиссёр не сумел преодолеть театр. природу постановки. С 1938 Р. окончательно поселился в США, где руководил театр, школой, выступал как консультант при создании разл. фильмов.
